Erotica
"Erotica" often has undertones of "love," or "eros," or soft mushy pastel-ly sweetness. Write a piece that is "erotic."

Pornography
"Pornography" often has undertones of something provocative, intentionally arousing, hardcore, sleazy. Take the piece you wrote as "erotica" and re-write it as "pornography."
Coming Out Letter
Take five minutes to start a letter to a significant ancestor (Hello Daddy, Hello Mom) or former lover to let them know you are a sexual being. "Dear Daddy..." Try it.

Most forbidden childhood sexual act
What was it? Making out with your cousin? The girl next door? Riding the corner of the coffee table?
Great in Bed
Write a brag or boast about your sexual prowess. (You may want to direct it toward the object of your affections.)
Genre-Bending Exercise
(This exercise is inspired by Susie Bright's suggestions in How to Read/Write a Dirty Story) Give yourself five minutes to write an erotic scene in the language and imagery of any (or each) of the following:
science fiction, Penthouse letter, historical epic, bodice ripper, gothic, technical manual, cheesy "softcore" erotica, hardcore, beatnik, chick-lit, hip hop, poetic, white trash, urban sophisticate...and/or make up your very own genre!

What arouses you?
Any image, sense-object, fantasy, thought, music, food, landscape...whatever...that actually arouses you.

Describe a small erotic gesture that turned you on...
Was it the time your sweetheart rolled around on his back naked, kicking his feet in the air? Was it the slow wink, the fast tongue flicker over dinner conversation? The back arching after writing a blog post? The eyes dropping down, half-mast, while the mouth drooled a little as s/he saw you walk in?
My object d'art
Well, not art so much as a precious object. With this little marvel of working class technology, I learned to masturbate.
My older brother and I would play "sharks." We had to stay up on the furniture - there were sharks on the ocean floor. Somehow we got in the habit of "reacharging" after particularly exhausting trips around the living room. I grabbed the bowling pin my parents used as a doorstop and embraced it.
It was half my size (I was only 3). At some point I noticed that if I topped it and pushed juuuust right, I'd get some fine results.
I was in my early 20s before I finally realized it was indeed an orgasm - it certainly didn't seem like anything I'd seen on TV or in movies, and wasn't anything I had experienced (until then) during sex. I thought I had discovered something else, and was in fact non-orgasmic.
To this day I get a little turned on at the thought of entering a bowling alley...
Describe an image from a book or movie that really turned you on...
It could be Harvey Keitel's fingertips brushing against the back of Holly Hunter's neck in "The Piano." It could be all those thunderstorms in Wuthering Heights, the full frontal of Ewan McGregor as Iggy Pop in "Velvet Goldmine." It could Pamela Anderson in "Baywatch" or "Barb Wire." Halle Berry in "Catwoman." You name it. What turned you on?
Post Your Own Object
So feel free to post an image or suggest an inocuous (i.e. not yr usual fantasy fare) object that other contributors can run wild with. Take 5-10 minutes to write a sexy or erotically charged story featuring the object.
Show and Tell
Look around you. Pick an ordinary object, a seemingly inocuous object even, and let your erotic imagination run wild with it. Time yourself; limit your erotic story with this inanimate object go 5-10 minutes.

Your assignment: masturbate and write about it
That's right. This is a weekly homework assignment for the Gynomite "Breaking the Cherry" workshop. Homework was never so much fun!
